A340 Emergency Landing 5th Nov 1997
At 1620 local time Nov. 5, 1997, the flight crew of a Virgin Atlantic Airways Airbus A340-311 conducted an emergency landing on Runway 27L at London Heathrow Airport with the aircraft’s left-main landing gear partially extended. The aircraft was substantially damaged. Five passengers and two crew members received minor injuries during evacuation.
